Insurance Backing

Icopal guarantees are underwritten by separate insurance policies covering product, consequential damage and contractor insolvency. All insurance policies are arranged with first class security in the London market by companies specialising in construction.

All Products

All Icopal waterproofing membranes are covered by the insurance policies including those no longer available.

FSA Approved

Icopal is the only waterproofing manufacturer to be approved by the Financial Services Authority. Consequently Icopal are not bounded by European legislation limiting waterproofing manufacturers from offering insurance backed guarantees for either contractor workmanship or insolvency.

Contractor Insolvency

Icopal’s Insurance Backed System Warranty includes contractor insolvency cover should the original installing contractor cease trading. In this event, all future claims against workmanship for the project under guarantee revert to Icopal.

Up to 30 years

Extended warranties upto to 30 years are available for the Insurance Backed Product Warranty.

Comprehensive Terms & Conditions

All terms and conditions attached to each of the Insurance Backed Guarantees have been independently assessed concerning its suitability and relevance under English Law.

Financial Cover

The Insurance Backed System Guarantee has a maximum financial claim figure of £500,000 per roof project.

Icopal Approved Installers

Icopal guarantees that include workmanship can only be authorised where the installing contractor has received IMA or Team Icopal status.

Intelligent Membrane Association (IMA)

Approximately 85 roofing contracting companies from all over the UK form the IMA. To be an IMA member requires the qualifying contractor to demonstrate excellence in workmanship, a long and stable history of trading and above all a desire to maintain excellent standards at all times.
